Interesting drinks, cozy atmosphere and good service. Some of the drinks were good but most were not well mixed. Favourite drink was surprisingly the soy sauce one which the staff recommended!

Despite a full house, Backdoor Bodega managed to find a spot for our group of five just before midnight, where we celebrated New Year’s. The bar boasts a fantastic atmosphere, attentive staff, and an exceptional head waiter who doubles as an entertainer. The drinks were great and we had an unforgettable evening – many thanks!

Highly recommended, especially for tourists! The menu is well curated with flavours from Penang and some Thai influenced. You can take your time to read through the menu as there are explanations and some food recommendations. Ordered 5 cocktails, they were all great! Complex yet smooth to drink. The front of the bar is a boutique shop, don’t be afraid to walk in!

Cool cocktail bar. Uniquely curated list. Drinks slightly on the sweeter side of my palate . Service is probably the best you will get on this island. Highly recommended

Amazing vibes, drinks and staff. This is the place to be if you are looking for a speakeasy bar in Penang. We tried a variety of drinks as we came with a group of friends. Drinks menu was definitely interesting! The bartender could also customize a drink for you. Staff were super friendly and helpful! FYI: the entrance to the bar is through the clothing shop
